County Mayo is right on the West Coast of Ireland. Its sea coast has a huge variety of landscapes and islands, while inland there are mountains, rivers and lakes. Among the many towns are Castlebar and Westport, lively places for shopping or an evening out.

Whatever your taste in activities you are spoilt for choice. Adventures and activities are well provided for by some of the most experienced people in the business, you can learn to surf, sail, climb and much more.

If you are looking for something a little less demanding there are endless walking trails and a world class Greenway and Cyclepath.  This 42km traffic-free route that runs from Westport to Achill is ideal for a leisurely stroll, a brisk walk or an energetic cycle while admiring the views of Clew Bay.
Some will find it surprising that there are no less than three Whiskey Distilleries in the area and it is possible to visit them and see how they make ” Uisce Beatha”, the water of life as it is known in Irish.

Whatever your tastes in things to do you are spoilt for choice and there are lots of little known known beaches, walks, and places to see which you can discover during your stay in the area. They are often just around the corner.
