Newport, County Mayo, is a picturesque town nestling on the shores of Clew Bay with the Brown Oak River flowing through its centre. It is a great centre for a holiday in the area as it is ideally placed to visit the many attractions such as Clew Bay and is known as the gateway to Achill island. There is no shortage of activities in the area including easy access to the Greenway. The Greenway is an award winning 42km walking and cycling trail which passes through the picturesque town of Newport. We have sea angling in the bountiful waters of Clew Bay, while Newport River and Beltra Lake are regarded as some of the best fresh water fishing grounds in Europe.
