Westport Christmas Market:

Of All the towns in County Mayo Westport is one of the best at creating the festive spirit.
Huge effort is put in to creating a stunning  display of lights. The Railway Hotel will be lit up, bringing festive cheer to the well known building on the mall. A lot of work and effort has been put into this display and it’s definitely worth a look when you are visiting the town.
The Christmas Market is now well known for its great atmosphere and the wonderful things you can buy. Craft and artisan food producers from all over Mayo will converge on Westport Mall for a spectacular traditional Christmas market from December 11 to December 13.

Organised by the Westport Chamber of Commerce, the traditional market will showcase and highlight all that is good about locally produced food and crafts in Mayo, with some 100 Mayo artisan food and craft producers invited to exhibit and sell their produce and also create a special festive atmosphere in Westport over that weekend. Westport’s Shop ‘n Spraoi na Nollag is expected to attract thousands of visitors to Westport town over the three days with a carnival atmosphere, street performances, exhibitions, demonstrations, family events, Santa’s grotto, live nativity crib, parades, light shows, and lots of free giveaways on offer. This will see Westport immersed with the Christmas Spirit as the Octagon becomes the focal point for their annual FREE event Spraoi Na Nollag. Organised by the creative team at Westport Town Hall with the support of the Westport Chamber and Mayo.ie, the theatre brings to life the joys of the festive season and our community spirit.
